Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, by Gabrielle Zevin, author of Elsewhere, is the story of a high school girl who hits her head and gets amnesia. She is rescued by a boy James who tells the ambulance driver he is her boyfriend so he can help her to the hospital. Now, she not only finds out that James is not her boyfriend, but that she has a different boyfriend. I liked how she feels like a completely different person than the girl she was before, and trying to figure out why she used to behave the way she did. Her best friend Will, who she also doesn't remember, adds some humor to the story with his mix tapes and letters with footnotes trying to spark her memory.
